Rio Avid Angler Sea Run Select

The search for the next great intermediate line may be over...  We have lost count how many intermediate lines that our staff have tested over the years.  These "slime lines" are meant to slide just beneath the surface and are often thebest option when fishing a baitfish, bugger or swimming nymph. This line will slightly sink getting you below the surface and connected to the fly.

One of the major issues with intermediate lines is memory. This "coiling" is caused by stiff monofilament cores that can be difficult to stretch, thus often over or under-stretched.  Throughout the year, water temperatures fluctuate based on each fishery. The Sea Run Select has a braided core to prevent coiling which can add distance to your cast when shooting line.  This taper is based off the popular Rio Grand Fly Line.  We recommend using a stripping basket wiith this slow sinking line.

The first 30' of line is a stealth gray color, and the running line is light aqua.  When you get to the color change, fish the final 30 feet carefully, as fish can often follow the fly to your feet! The last few feet can imitate a hatching insect or fleeing fish.
