The Yakima River, which is 1.5 to 2 hours east of Seattle, is one of Washington's best trout rivers. Rainbow and Westslope Cutthroat trout dominate the trout water, which runs from Rosa Dam upstream to the town of Easton. Most of the angling occurs near Cle Elum and Ellensburg. Our guides use a dozen, or so, boat launches to access the river. We specialize in float trips, where the angler has the ability to fish from the boat or stop and wade fish along the drift. Most day floats last around 8 hours and we cover anywhere from 5 to 20 miles of rivers. Much of this variability depends on the time of year and river levels, or river flows.

Skykomish River - Forty five minutes to an hour from Seattle, the Skykomish River flows out of the central Cascade Mountains through the south and north forks which join to form the mainstem river at Index. It then flows through Gold Bar, Startup and Sultan before joining the Snoqualmie at Monroe. If any river is considered Seattle's home water, the Skykomish would probably be it. It hosts runs of winter and summer steelhead as well as four species of Pacific Salmon. Silvers, chum and pink salmon predominate with Chinook salmon hanging on with a remnant run of fish. Sea-run cutthroat also run the Sky in the fall.
